So what exactly is a BringMeHome tag?

It's a little tag for the collar with a QR code and an NFC chip, a kind of digital ID for your dog or cat. Someone finds your pet, scans it with their phone, and up comes the photo, the name and your number. Nothing to download, no account to create.

How does it work, step by step?

You create an account, add your dog or cat, and order a tag. Clip it to the collar and you're done. When someone finds your pet, they point their camera at the code or hold their phone to the NFC chip, and the profile opens right there in the browser.

Is this a dog ID tag or a cat ID tag?

Both. The same tag works as a dog ID tag and a cat ID tag. For cats we make a lighter version for a thin breakaway safety collar, so it stays out of the way and comes undone if it ever snags on something.

Does the person who finds my pet have to install anything?

No. The profile opens straight in their browser. Nothing to download, no account, no signing in. Any phone they happen to have on them will do.

Is there a subscription?

There isn't. The account and the pet's profile are free, and you pay for the tag once. No monthly fees, nothing tucked away in the small print.

Who gets to see my details and my location?

Only what you choose to show. For your phone, email, breed or any note, you tick separately whether it's visible. We never store your location. A finder can choose to send you theirs, so you know where to head. All in line with the GDPR.

How is this different from a microchip?

A microchip can only be read by a vet or a shelter with a special scanner. A QR and NFC tag can be scanned on the spot by anyone walking past, with an ordinary phone, and they can call you straight away. The smartest thing is to have both. The chip is your entry in the official registry; the tag is instant contact right where your pet is.

Is a digital ID tag the same as a pet passport?

No, these are two separate things. A pet passport is an official EU document with your microchip number and rabies vaccination record, and you need it to take your dog or cat abroad. A BringMeHome tag is a digital QR and NFC ID that helps you get your pet back when it goes missing. It won't stand in for the passport, but the two work beautifully side by side.

Is the tag water-resistant, and is it safe for a cat?

It's water-resistant, there's no battery inside, and nothing ever runs flat. For a cat, put it on a light breakaway safety collar, so it's comfortable and safe at the same time. It's worth checking now and then that the tag and the print are still in good shape.

I have a few pets. Can I add them all?

Of course. One account, and as many dogs and cats as you have at home. Each one gets its own profile and its own tag.

Will it work if my pet goes missing abroad?

Yes. The profile opens in a browser anywhere in the world, and the page speaks English, Polish and German, so even a finder in another country can reach you in no time.

What if my dog or cat loses the whole collar?

The tag stays on the collar, so it's worth fastening that securely. It's also why we nudge you toward a microchip as a second, permanent backup. The tag and the chip are on the same team.
